Allison Steinberg is the Communications Director at the Empire State Pride Agenda.
In this capacity, she oversees all communications efforts for the organization and its many facets, including harnessing traditional and social media to tell the stories of the Pride Agenda’s important work in furthering equality and justice for LGBT New Yorkers and our families.
Prior to her tenure at the Pride Agenda, Allison served as Spokesperson at JetBlue, where she managed daily media relations and social media strategy for the New York-based airline, including the company blog, BlueTales. Preceding that, she worked as Associate Publisher of Tricycle: The Buddhist Review, and at GO Magazine and Dyke TV. Allison has spent more than a decade as a journalist in New York City, with a specific focus on LGBT issues. She has written for Huffington Post, New York Magazine, The Village Voice, Time Out New York, The Advocate and Curve Magazine among other outlets; and has been quoted in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, L.A. Times, Chicago Tribune, BusinessWeek, CNN and The Dallas Morning News, to name a few.
Allison earned a B.A. in Media Studies and an M.F.A. in Integrated Media Arts from CUNY Hunter College. She is a native New Yorker, currently residing in Long Island City, Queens with her wife.
