Lisa Beth Kovetz

Bio

Lisa Beth Kovetz is a Sr. Writer-Producer at CUNY TV and the showrunner on the nationally distributed PBS show Science Goes to the Movies. Kovetz’ stage plays have appeared in New York, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and in translation at The Sibiu International Theater Festival. The translation of her play Com Explodat David ran for three years in Bucharest. She wrote the stage adaptation of singer Janis Ian’s short story “Prayerville.” Kovetz also created the Jazz Baby series of audio CDs presenting classic nursery rhymes set to jazz. Jazz, Baby won the National Parents Publication Gold Award, the Parents’ Choice Approval Award and the Film Advisory Board Award of Excellence. Kovetz co-wrote Oliver in the Bath and Oliver Stays Up, which won the North American Book Dealer's 2002 Pinnacle Book Achievement Award and the Film Advisory Board Award of Excellence. A native of Brooklyn and graduate of Smith College, Ms. Kovetz lives in New York City.
