CUNY TV Digital Series debuts with 4-part Twilight Talks
Beginning Tuesday, October 10 (2017) on cuny.tv, YouTube and Facebook
Beginning in October 2017, CUNY TV – the television station of the City University of New York – launches CUNY TV Digital Series, a digital-first presentation of unique miniseries, each comprised of four short weekly episodes available for viewing on YouTube (at www.youtube.com/watch?v=K42qFwNegpA&feature=youtu.be), Facebook (www.facebook.com/CUNYTV/), and CUNY TV’s website, www.cuny.tv. The series may be viewed on a variety of platforms, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Developed by in-house CUNY TV producers, CUNY TV Digital Series encompasses arts, history, race and identity, the LGBTQ community, women's issues, and topics of social impact.
Beginning Tuesday, October 10 (2017), CUNY TV Digital Series premieres with Twilight Talks (www.cuny.tv/show/twilighttalks), a four-part series of conversations held at twilight overlooking New York City's Hudson Yards. Born out of a new political reality — post-election 2016 — the talks are with arts & culture professionals about their work and unique perspectives on contemporary life.
In the first episode, host Kevin Moore (www.cuny.tv/bio/kevin_moore) interviews Jessica Dawson (jessicadawson.com/), art critic for The Wall Street Journal & The Village Voice, and also the founder/co-curator of dOGUMENTA, America’s first art show for dogs. Twilight Talks, and every miniseries thereafter, will consist of four weekly episodes, each released on a consecutive Tuesday.
Kevin Moore is an independent curator and writer based in New York. His work focuses on the history of photography, film/video, and contemporary art. He earned a Ph.D. in Art History in 2002 from Princeton University and worked in curatorial departments at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Harvard University's Fogg Art Museum. Since 2013, he has been the Artistic Director and Curator of FotoFocus, Cincinnati, and, since 2017, Curatorial Advisor for the McEvoy Foundation for the Arts, San Francisco.
Twilight Talks producer Wilson Reyes is an Emmy Award-winning producer and editor based in New York City. He has produced and directed films and documentaries in the U.S. and overseas, and also has several years of experience in commercial as well as not-for-profit television. His most recent credits include producing for Nueva York, CUNY TV's Spanish-language television show that celebrates the diversity and richness of Latino cultures in New York City.
Twilight Talks is part of the ongoing CUNY TV Digital Series, with development coordinated by Emmy Award-winning producer Jose Luis Orbegozo under the supervision of Susan Iger, CUNY TV's Director of Programming, and CUNY TV’s Interim Executive Director, Gail R. Yancosek.
