Original tape date: June 18, 2012.
First aired: June 20, 2012.
The New York Civil Liberties Union wants to reduce what it sees as excessive stop and frisk by the NYPD, and now they've got a smartphone app to help. Donna Lieberman, Executive Director, and Jason Van Anden, who designed the app, join us for a demo. Then, the possibilities for domain names, like .com and .net, will soon explode. Taylor Tepper, reporter for The Daily, explains the ramifications. We'll take a look at the legal fight over Brooklyn start-up Aereo TV with Greg Sandoval of CNET, and learn about how to build our very own underwater robot with David Lang of the OpenROV project. Finally, how to fix our broken electrical system with Maggie Koerth-Baker, author of "Before the Lights Go Out."
