(1965/Czechoslolvakia, 127 min., b&w, drama) Cast: Gustav Valach, Nadezda Gajerova, Vlado Muller, Zdenek Lstiburek. In the Moravian countryside in the spring of 1945, a 12-year-old boy has his own dreams and worries, despite the lesser and greater tragedies that accompany the last days of WWII. When the film was screened at the Moscow Film Festival, the audience was shocked at the way Russian "liberators" were depicted in the film. The film was suppressed so completely that today few people recognize its name.
