Based on a short story by Anton Chekhov. A man and woman, both in unhappy marriages, meet at a seaside resort town and have an affair before departing back to their hometowns. The man misses the woman so desperately that he finds a way to make a trip to her town to see her again…leading to an untenable situation for both. Discussion guest: George Malko, writer-translator.

Host, Jerry Carlson, professor of film studies at The City College of the City University of New York, discusses "The Lady with the Dog" (a film adaptation of a short story with the same name by Anton Chekhov) with George Malko, screen writer, novelist and Chekhov translator.
