Host, Jerry Carlson, professor of film studies at The City College of the City University of New York, discusses "The Shooting Party" (a film adaptation of Anton Chekhov's only novel with the same name) with Anthony Anemone, associate professor of Russian and European literature, cinema and culture at The New School. Anemone and Carlson explain what Carlson calls the film's "lush visual style." They discuss the film's primary characters, character relationships, and themes. Anemone also describes where "The Shooting Party" fits in Chekhov's literary cannon.
