This edition: Mario Fratti, playwright ("Nine"), Part 1 of 2.
Guest host actor Marilyn Sokol interviews Mario Fratti, the renowned Italian American playwright. Ms. Sokol, star of the hit Off-Broadway show, "Old Jews Telling Jokes," after appearing in numerous experimental plays and TV series, is well suited to spar with Mario Fratti, who is well into his eighties and still going strong. Perhaps best known for his Broadway musical version of the Fellini film "Nine," Fratti is noted for well-crafted dramas that usually climax with a surprising twist. He is the author of over 90 plays, with subjects that are sure never to age: love, sex, politics, betrayal, mothers, sons, fathers, daughters, deaths, and double meanings.
