Original tape date: September 13, 2006.

This week Jeanine Pirro, the Republican candidate for attorney general of New York, joins Brian Lehrer to discuss her qualifications for becoming attorney general and gives us her opinions on her opponent Andrew Cuomo. Through out her career in law, Jeanine Pirro has been a prosecutor, a judge and a district attorney. Although she has the backing of conservatives, Jeanine Pirro views herself as more of a moderate republican who makes it well know that she is pro-choice on the issue of abortion. Jeanine Pirro looks to become the first female attorney general for the state of New York.

Later on in the program Brian is joined by Daniel Gilgoff, a senior editor at U.S. News & World Report, and Siva Vaidhyanathan, a media scholar at NYU and author of “The Anarchist in the Library.” The topic of web videos and their use in political races is discussed. Several clips of commercials and videos going around the web are shown as Daniel Gilgoff and Siva Vaidhyanathan offer their opinions on how much of an affect each video may have on the election results.
