Episode Details

Original tape date: October 10, 2018.

First aired: October 12, 2018.

This month we visit St. George, Staten Island - a neighborhood that is located on the island’s traditionally less affluent North Shore, and is currently going through a bit of a transition. We’ll learn about a major waterfront development and its anticipated impact on the community. We’ll highlight a group of artists who are becoming greater stakeholders in the area’s growth. A local pharmacy owner and pillar of the community, will share how a recent ordeal nearly put him out of business. We’ll visit a restaurant where all of the food is prepared by grandmothers from around the world. Then we learn about some of the area’s dark history that predated Ellis Island.
