This edition: It's About Time
(Israel). Against a counterpoint of jazz and a montage of arresting images, Israelis – a taxi driver, a rabbi, a beach lifeguard, a stand-up comic, and a three-year-old child among others -- contemplate, argue over, and reflect upon the very concept of time and its improvised management. The mosaic of voluble players looks at time present, future and past. They ask themselves why time for “living,” once abundant, has almost disappeared. For the participants, Israeli time has a special meaning. “In the gap between a huge past and a brief present,” says one, “the drama of Israel unfolds.”
The documentary by Ayelet Menahemi and Elona Ariel was first broadcast in Israel.
