After the arrival of the printing press, a Golden Age in English literature arrived as well. There was a Renaissance in English prose, drama, comedy and poetry. During this time period, Sir Francis Bacon wrote Renaissance Man, Christopher Marlowe wrote Tamburlaine the Great, and Edmund Spenser published The Faerie Queene. Also Sir Walter Raleigh authored The Ocean to Cynthia while Ben Jonson established a new kind of comedy. John Donne delivered his own death sermon, and John Milton began Paradise Lost.
