This edition: The Year Ender

Episode Details

Original tape date: December 30, 2009.

On this edition of Independent Sources we take a look back at some of the issues we have covered during the first half of the season. First, we take a look at crime in black communities despite reports that New York City's crime rate is at its lowest in 40 years. We look in on a web correspondent breaking new ground reporting on news from Iran. We hear about Jews who are breaking some traditional dietary laws. Then, we profile a Muslim musician who is part rock star and part social activist and a Spanish paper that has some controversial marketing strategies.
