On this edition of Independent Sources hosted by Garry Pierre-Pierre, we speak with sociologist Nancy Foner about the changing face of the city’s immigrant population and why it’s becoming less monolithic. We hear from an immigration advocate about a grassroots campaign to end the NYPD’s involvement with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Then we profile Publicolor, a program that has been beautifying schools around the city for nearly twenty years and helping students graduate in the process.
