ITALICS/AJT reports on The National Italian American Foundations 32nd Annual Conference and Gala Awards Dinner, held on October 13th, 2007,in Washington DC, at the Hilton Hotel. Over 3,500 people gather to celebrate the Italian American Heritage and its contributions and achievements to the country and world by honoring some of our community's most influential and brightest stars.

NIAF Honorees for 2007 year include: the Hon. Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the US House of Representatives, legendary Film Director Martin Scorsese, Former Mayor of New York City & 2008 Presidential Candidate Rudolph Giuiliani, Actress/Singer/Entrepreneur Connie Stevens, Film & TV Actress Ellen Pompeo, and William Novelli, CEO of the AARP. Tributes were presented to the Late Great Tenor Luciano Pavarotti, and Jack Valenti, Former Visionary President of the Motion Picture Association of America. Legendary Singer/Songwriter Neil Sedaka performs for a NIAF Audience over our credits.
