First on ITALICS, we discuss the recent passing of The Honorable Geraldine A. Ferraro, United States Congresswoman from Queens, N.Y. and the first Female Candidate for Vice President on a major party Ticket, with Professor Doug Muzzio, of Baruch College/CUNY and host of City Talk on CUNY TV.
As a Tribute to the Late Congresswoman, we will rebroadcast the august 2010 event that honored her on the occasion of her 75th birthday, her last official public appearance.

Next on ITALICS we’ll join the Democratic Minority Leader, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, Members of the Italian American Congressional Delegation of the 112th US Congress, and The National Italian American Foundation in officially Recognizing and Honoring Italian Freedom Fighter Giuseppi Garibaldi and the Nation of Italy on the 150th Anniversary of its Unification. Held in the Historic Mike Mansfield Room of the US Capitol, Congresswoman Pelosi presented a Presidential Proclamation on the event by President Barack Obama to The Ambassador of Italy to the United States, Giulio Terzi di Sant’Agata. Sen. Mike Enzi, of Montana, announced beginning the legislative process to present a US Congressional Gold Medal to honor Giuseppe Garibaldi, Freedom Fighter and Hero of Italian Unification.
