En este episodio iniciamos en el Harlem latino, recordando uno de los momentos de mayor impacto en la historia de los Estados Unidos: el triunfo de Barak Obama en la votaciones del 2008. Carmen Delgado nos habla de su proceso para conseguir la ciudadanía norteamericana y finalmente poder ejercer su derecho al voto.

Después nos transportamos a Brooklyn a conocer a las cantantes y compositoras Sabrina Lastman, Sofía Rei y Sofía Tosello, quienes conversan con Carmen Boullosa acerca de sus búsquedas musicales. Son artistas provenientes del Sur de América que han creado un frente artístico en Nueva York para presentar sus propias composiciones

Después vamos al extremo este de Brooklyn; visitamos East New York Farms, un oasis en medio de la metrópolis. Aquí, un grupo de adolescentes aprender a cultivar frutas y verduras que luego venden en su propio mercado local.

Y finalmente Patricio Lerzundi visita John Jay College para conversar con el reverendo Luís Barrios, profesor de estudios puertorriqueños que ha realizado un amplio trabajo de investigación sobre las pandillas juveniles y su transnacionalización

We begin this episode in Spanish Harlem, as we remember one of the most astounding moments in U.S. history, Barack Obama's victory in the 2008 elections. Carman Delgado tells us about her process of becoming a U.S. citizen and finally being able to vote.

Then, we go to Brooklyn, to meet performers and composers Sabrina Lastman, Sofía Rei and Sofía Tosello, who chat with Carmen Boullosa about their musical journeys. They are women musicians from South America who have created an artistic front in New York, in order to perform their own works.

From there, we go to the eastern tip of Brooklyn to visit East New York farms, an oasis in the big city. Here, a group of teens learns how to grow fruits and vegetables which they sell at the local market.

And finally, Patricio Lerzundi visits John Jay College, where he interviews the Reverend Luis Barrios, professor of Puerto Rican Studies, who has done a great deal of research on juvenile gangs and their transnationalization.
