It’s an old refrain. You’ve done your time, you’re released from prison, but no one wants you living in their neighborhood.

That’s why Topeka Sam and Vanee Sykes, who met while in federal prison, created Hope House NYC in the Castle Hill section of the Bronx, as a transitional home for formerly incarcerated women. But while the need for Hope House is great, its road has not been easy, and its future is all but certain, as its founders will explain today.
