This edition: Tackling Poverty with Greg Kaufmann

Episode Details

Original tape date: October 25, 2016.

First aired: November 7, 2016.

We’ve made some modest inroads against poverty in the past year or two, but it’s still a very big problem. In the U.S., nearly 47 million Americans are poor. More than a third of all black children are poor. In New York City, nearly 60,000 people, many of them children, are crammed into the homeless shelters each night. Bob talks about this - what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to be done - with one of the keenest observers of poverty in the country, Greg Kaufmann. He’s a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress and the editor-in-chief of the website, TalkPoverty.org.
