The Serrano Sisters - Puerto Rican sisters, Brooklyn-natives Cyndi and Amanda Serrano are ready to redefine women's boxing, a sport that has now been around for a few years, and begun to see more acceptance among traditionalists who once-upon-a-time may not have been as comfortable with the thought of women in the ring.
ASPIRA, Inc. - ASPIRA, Inc. has served the Puerto Rican and Latino community in Philadelphia for decades. Founded in 1961 by Civil Rights pioneer Antonia Pantoja, the organization continues to work closely with young students.
El Puente: Green Light District - El Puente was founded over 30 years ago to create leaders among the youth in the community. With climate change already a reality for future generations, El Puente launched the Green Light District, a 10-year initiative to promote sustainability in the historically Puerto Rican enclave of South Williamsburg.
