Episode Details

This video program takes our discussion of one-way ANOVA a step further by explaining how that test can be expanded to investigate the effects of two factors at once on a response variable. Two real life examples illustrate how the ANOVA F test is used to evaluate the effect of two categorical factors on the mean of a quantitative variable. The alternative hypotheses explored in these segments show the complexity and capability of the two- way ANOVA F test. The examples will show you how researchers are able draw to draw multiple conclusions from the data. These conclusions not only deal with the impact of the individual explanatory variables on the response variable, but also the extent to which the two explanatory variables interact to produce an effect in the response variable.
