Episode Details

This video program introduces you to some new statistical methods that work with data not easily analyzed by the traditional statistical methods you have learned so far in the course. The program shows how these new techniques can be used to evaluate the means of two groups whose sample sizes are too small to conduct a proper two-sample t test or that have a less than Normal distribution. The video illustrates these techniques through two real life examples that show how sampling the same data over and over can lead researchers to important conclusions they could not have made with more traditional methods. The data explored in these segments show the complexity and capabilities of these new statistical techniques.
