First aired: August 31, 2014.

On this month’s show, we take a look back at five of the more compelling segments that aired over the 2013-14 year of programming. David Cieri of City College is a music improviser, but also a sound designer for Ken Burns’ film company. Queens College graduate Nashwa El-Sayed was kidnapped by her father and spent 15 years in Egypt, only to escape in a harrowing story she recounts on camera. La Guardia Commity College’s Rodolfo Caballero takes us into remote parts of Mexico through his vibrant and fascinating photography. Big-headed Todd, a video puppet created by City Tech’s Cory Einbinder, is bringing new technology and storytelling to the theater stage. And finally, Ana Mojocoa, a math teacher and graduate of Queens College, has found her life calling.
