On the fourth episode of season 14, we look at film across the CUNY spectrum. We’ll go to Queens and visit with Tom Stathes, a Queens College graduate with an impressive collection of vintage cartoon reels. We’ll review the ongoing career of filmmaker Flavio Alves, a City College grad and filmmaker who sought political asylum in the US and has since gone on to document the elderly population in his films. Barry Mitchell then takes famed Hollywood director Joel Zwick back to his alma mater, Brooklyn College, to talk about his career and working with people like Robin Williams. We’ll look at a profile of cinematographer Shachar Langlev, a graduate of Brooklyn College, and then watch a chancellor-initiated screenings of ‘Underwater Dreams’ at Queensborough Community College.
