(Taiwan/2010, 56 min., color, documentary, in Mandarin with English subs.) Dir.: Ching-chong, Chen. The Xiuguluan River runs through the homeland of two of Taiwan's indigenous tribes - the Ami and Bunun. At the mid- and down-stream levels, the Ami's fish-catching culture derives from the river. At the up-stream level around the Laku Laku River, the Bununs lived for centuries. It was also the site of a bloody battle between the Bunun and the Japanese.
