Original tape date: October 11, 2013.
First aired: October 26, 2013.
Theater journalists Jesse Green (New York Magazine), Patrick Healy (The New York Times) and Michael Musto (MUSTO! The Musical/Out.com) join Michael Riedel and Susan Haskins to focus on the upcoming New York theater season, which is just revving up with several star-driven plays (most notably Daniel Craig in Betrayal) dominating public interest and ticket sales. At the same time, a number of other new, but lesser-known shows also are entering the fray in search of success, and our panel discusses the ones they most look forward to, as well as ones that are already facing problems.
The productions they discuss besides Betrayal, include: Big Fish, The Glass Menagerie, No Man’s Land/Waiting for Godot, Domesticated, Twelfth Night/Richard III, Fun Home, A Night with Janis Joplin, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder and The Winslow Boy.
