Episode Details

Original tape date: September 16, 2016.

First aired: October 29, 2016.

Comedian Lisa Lampanelli discusses her new play “Stuffed,” about women confronting eating disorders and body issues while struggling for self esteem. After her own loss of 107 pounds, Lampanelli (known in the comedy world as "The Queen of Mean") wrote this 4-woman play and now stars in the WP Theater production Off-Broadway.

Next up writer/producer Jack Viertel talks about his new book “The Secret Life of the American Musical: How Broadway Shows are Built,” in which he reveals the key principles that anyone trying to create a hit musical must first understand.

Finally, we celebrate Halloween on The Ride, the unique sold-out theatrical experience that carries passengers on special high-tech buses and uses the streets of New York City as the stage.
